Cavanaugh, Christine

 

Dr. Christine (Chris) Cavanaugh brings an extensive background in leadership and management, technology, board management, executive coaching, market research, evaluation methods, institutional advancement, human performance technology, and professional coaching and development. Dr. Cavanaugh received her BS in business management from the University of Maryland, and her MBA (specialization in organizational development) and EdD (specialization in virtual learning environments) from the University of West Florida. She was an American Council on Education Fellow and previously chaired the Professional Development Committee for the ACE Council of Fellows.

Dr. Cavanaugh’s higher education experience includes serving as Director of Training and Professional Development at The George Washington University, and as Director of the Fort Walton Beach Campus, Director of the Human Performance Technology Program, Interim Director of Sponsored Research, and Associate Director of the Haas Center for Business Research and Economic Development at the University of West Florida. She also served as Campus Director of a branch campus at the University of West Florida, often known as a Dean role in similar institutions.

She currently instructs for Immaculata University (Doctoral EdD Program), for Chaminade University of Honolulu (graduate level research-based courses online), and for UMUC (Business Program in Leadership and Human Resources). Additionally, she has written and presented nationally and internationally, and is co-editor of the three-volume series Aging in America (2010). She is currently working on a new book on women’s presidential leadership in higher education.
